ABOUT
My name is Aarti and I am a part-time analyst and full-time art historian. A graduate from Rutgers University with a double major in Art History and Computer Science, I currently work at Deutsche Bank in the Fixed Incomes (FX) division. Some of my research interests include cryptography, compilers, and 20th century Indian art (currently working on a research project in this field).
Born and raised in New York, I enjoy knitting, solving crosswords, making art, and playing pool in my free time. In addition to these, I love learning new languages and traveling (recently returned from a trip to Benin!)
So you might be wondering, why art and technology? Well, here is some food for thought: for most of history, the word art was synonymous with technology. In fact, its intrinsic meaning did not change until the 19th century when the Industrial Revolution split the fine arts from the practical arts, more commonly known as Technology, with the advent of post-consumerist culture.

CODE
COMPILERIII Conditionals, Loops, and Optimization
Parses/tokenize input, builds an intermediate representation (AST), and generates the corresponding ILOC assembly code. The compiler also optimizes with constant propagation, allowing for a faster compile-time.
HANDWRITTEN DIGIT AND FACIAL RECOGNITION Machine Learning Training Model
Built a perceptron model which reached 100% digit accuracy and 86% facial accuracy. This project taught me that simple features can be powerful predictors.
COMPILERII
Boolean Logic Compiler
Built with Flex/Bison to create a lexical parser and tokenizer given LL(1) grammar rules.
SIMULATED MAZE SEARCHING Adaptive A* Algorithm
Implemented the Adaptive A* algorithm, which performs repeated fast-trajectory planning, to chart the most efficient path for an agent to a target given an unknown maze.
